Repeaters
The Palms West Amateur Radio Club owns and maintains 3 repeaters for use by any licensed amateur radio operator.
Please click here for more information.
All of these repeaters are located a few miles south of Wellington Fl at 500′.
- VHF on 147.045 (PL 110.9) ARES / SKYWARN Listen Live
- UHF on 443.975 (PL 110.9) Listen Live
- In partnership with the Palm Beach Packet Group www.pbpg.org
After completing a total rework of the combiner systems and new antennas we have vastly improved coverage.
A Hand Held radio can hit these repeaters from just about anywhere in central and eastern Palm Beach County and most of the way to Lake Okeechobee.
Using a modest mobile radio the coverage is:
- East to the Atlantic ocean
- West to Clewiston, Fl
- South to just south of the Palm Beach county line
- North to Vero Beach
- The DMR has been reported to work handheld to the lake and mobile to Okeechobee
Your mileage may vary. 🙂
Check back often as we post pics and updates on these systems.
Please comment on your experiences with this phenomenal repeater system!
Hello. Can this repeater be used by Echolink and if so what is the node number and call sign?
Thanks and 73.
Andre
Ve2kin
This repeater is currently not connected to Echolink.
Is it expensive to add that feature?
I just found out about your two meter repeater. I always wondered exactly where it was located only to find that it is in my “back yard” I live in Venetian Isles and it is within one mile of me. I did program it into all of my radios and find that it is a nice repeater to operate with some very nice people on it.
My wife Shelly is also a ham operator KB2DBF as well as both of our children Shaun KB2JNW and Meredith KB2ZLS. So, you may hear them on every once in a while, especially my wife and I.
I would like to personally thank this club for being able to use your repeater.
Please look me up on QRZ and read my biography. This is what ham radio is to me.
Thank you,
Marty WA2YYX
are there any digital repeaters in your area
John, there are many in Palm Beach County Here is what I know
Yaesu System Fusion: 443.975 Analog only for now, Probably turn on Digital next weekend
Yaesu System Fusion: 147.045 Coming soon!! Digital / Analog
DMR – MotoTurbo: Many in SFL, great coverage in PBC. Google “DMR-MARC” for the world wide system or “AC4XQ” for the SFL system.
P25 – 146.67 in WPB, and 146.625 in Jupiter. There are many others but I don’t know the list off the top of my head,
DStar – West Palm Beach Radio Group runs the in WPB, again I don’t know the freq.
There will be representatives of all of these systems at the PBC Hamfest this Saturday (3-14-15) go to http://www.PalmBeachRadioFest.com for more info.
Hope that helps – Rob – KS4EC
I am relatively new to ham radio and trying to learn a little bit each day using my first 2 meter radio. I understand there is a way to make a phone call via the ham radio using “autopatch” Is it possible to take this functionality for a test run on this repeater and if so, how would one go about using this feature?
Nick – KK4BDF
What the Fusion node numbers on your repeaters?
KM4IQH
We are using only one Fusion repeater – on 443.975. There is no Internet connection though. If you go in on Fusion, it outputs in analog.
