The Palms West Amateur Radio Club is a general interest, ARRL affiliated, not-for-profit organization.  We are proud to have qualified to be an ARRL Special Service Club.  Some of our activities and projects are listed below:

  • Host interesting speakers on technical and non-technical subjects at our regular meetings.
  • We spearheaded the advancement of High Speed Multi-Media in Palm Beach County.
  • We participate in the annual ARRL Field Day on the last full weekend in June. Last time we made almost 1000 contacts!
  • We hosted the Palm Beach County Ham Radio Festival for six years.  Look for our Flea Market in November, 2023.
  • We provide monthly free Laurel VEC ham radio testing. For more information on testing sessions, contact Charlie, WB2SNN – wb2snn@gmail.com
  • Our members support many public service events such as the March of Dimes Walkathon, and WPTV’s Thanksgiving drive and Food for Families.
  • We also support the
    Palm Beach District Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES®) 

    in many drills and activities.

  • Our 147.045 repeater is designated as the central Palm Beach County prime ARES and Skywarn repeater.
  • We also provide club mentors to assist members with license exam preparation, antenna installation, station set up and equipment repair.
  • We operate club-sponsored repeaters at 147.045 – PL tone 110.9 and 443.975, PL 110.9.
  • We meet weekly at The Pirates Well in Royal Palm Beach every Saturday at 9 AM for our Meet and Eat club breakfast.  It is located Just North of Southern Blvd on Crestwood Blvd
